Maggie Pavlou. BA Hons. PG Dip HRM. CIPD

Maggie is an experienced HR Director and renowned for her practical approach to business, coaching and HR. Driven by her passion for helping businesses to understand the impacts of employee engagement.

As well as being the HR Director for one of the UKs largest holiday park operators, Maggie runs Belver North, a niche business which specialises in employee engagement. She was the first ever female President of the NECC and as such had the privilege of working with a diverse range of businesses across the region and beyond, leading a trade mission to Shanghai in 2006.  She was fortunate to receive the Learning Training & Development Award from the LSC for her work at Parkdean.

She is Chair of the NECC Training Company, a Regional Council Member of the Princes Trust and a School Governor of an ‘outstanding’ primary school

David Johnson. PhD, C.Psychol. F.R.S.A A.f.C

David is a Chartered Psychologist, coach and entrepreneur with that rare combination of a strong academic background and rigorous practical focus.

His particular experience has been in identifying the attributes and behaviours of successful business owners and their lead teams, recognising that one of the major barriers to success in any enterprise is the attitudes and behaviours of key players. He has created profiling and recruitment tools for organisations including Channel 4, Pizza Hut UK and Whitbread.

David has presented and published a large amount of material on entrepreneurial and business psychology.

As well as lecturing in Psychology, David was also the Director for the Barclays Centre for Entrepreneurship at Durham University and is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Newcastle.

Elaine has spent the last 6 years advising schools on the expectations that Ofsted places upon them in her role as Schools Improvement Advisor. 

She has worked within education since 1988 - spending many years as a Head Teacher within Primary Schools.

What this lady does not know about education and little people is really not worth knowing.

David Bate

Technology guru and statistical genius. Dave is an operationally focused Director with just under 30 years' experience of working with complex data systems - he makes sure everything works!

Leigh Sear BSc. PGCE.

Leigh is one of our academic and enterprise partners. He is the Chief Executive of Sfedi, the standards setting body and is passionate about enterprise and education.

He has worked with a wide variety of Universities and is currently a visiting lecturer at both Newcastle and Anglia Ruskin Universities.
